Sambal is no side issue in Rotterdam. Hottie Sambal makes sambals that are spicy, fresh and layered: from a classic pap laos to versions with yellow peppers and lime.

Behind the name is serious work. Every jar is made in small batches, with fresh peppers and without the heat drowning out the flavour.

That makes it a rewarding gift: there's always someone in the office who wants to try the hottest one, and always someone who cooks with it for the rest of the winter.
