Christmas gift inspiration for companies: from small gesture to grand thank-you

11 August 2026 · 2 min read

Inspiration for employees, clients and suppliers - with budgets, do's and don'ts, and Rotterdam examples.

Giving Christmas gifts within a company covers three groups: employees, clients and suppliers. Each group calls for a different tone.

For employees

The hamper is a thank-you for a whole year's work. Choose something that can be shared at home and add a personal message. Our Christmas hampers are fully geared towards this.

For clients and business relations

Here, recognisability and style matter most. A compact, beautifully packaged hamper with a handwritten card achieves more than a large box. See corporate gifts Rotterdam.

For suppliers and partners

Something small with a clear story works best: a bar of chocolate from an Rotterdam maker with your logo on the sleeve.

Budget guidelines

  • €20 - €25: compact, three strong products.
  • €35 - €50: the most popular segment, for example the Maasstad Box.
  • €60 - €75: luxury or XL, with a bottle or a drinks platter included.

Don'ts

  • No gift without a card.
  • No alcohol without an alcohol-free alternative.
  • No delivery in the last week before Christmas - plan early.

Tip: split your list into three groups

Employees, clients and suppliers each deserve something different. Employees get something to enjoy at home, clients something that carries your brand quietly, suppliers something small but sincere. One hamper for all three is nearly always wrong for at least one group.

Tip: use the 'would I buy this myself' test

Run your shortlist past that single question. Anything you hesitate over goes. What remains is shorter, more expensive per item and far better received. That's almost always the right trade.

Tip: plan backwards from the handover date

  • Week -12: set budget and quantities.
  • Week -10: choose the composition and review a sample hamper.
  • Week -8: supply personalisation and card text.
  • Week -6: confirm final numbers and addresses.
  • Week -2: office delivery or home delivery.

Start in September and you have the full choice; start in November and you choose from what's left.

Tip: collect addresses once, properly

Home delivery almost always fails on incomplete addresses. Use one form asking for house number plus addition, a phone number for the courier, and a variant choice. One good request saves dozens of December emails.

Tip: keep what you learn this year

Right after handover day, note what stood out: which product got mentioned most, which variant ran out, which delivery went wrong. Next year you start there, and half the work is already done.
